How The West Was Won

By Harris Tobias,

This is how the West was won

By rugged men with guts and guns

In the end the West was tamed

The range divided, the mountains named

The land succumbed to human dreams

Of shopping malls and Dairy Queens

And after all is said and done

You have to wonder what was won
