A Child’s Surrender

A child surrenders

A four year old from Syria

Knows war

Knows fear

Her eyes look for solace

She cannot find

Her tiny hands balled into a fist

Up in the air

In front of a camera she believes a gun

Remember her

May her gaze follow your dreams

And when you hate

And wish to hurt back

Remember her

And all the ones

We cannot see

  1. Very good – the photos of the Children are heart-breaking.

  2. Paul says:

Laura, iIf only the ones who do harm could somehow think the way you think, then maybe the world would finally know peace.
